Mudfest 2009

So what do you do when your driveway has been torn out and then overnight you get 3 inches of rain? You ask to play in the mud of course, and you call your friends and ask them to come play too!

You look for frogs...

Play with the hose...

Give yourself a mud treatment. People pay big bucks for this type of thing you know.

You just have a plain old fashion good time.
And look cute doing it of course.

Or not. Apparently not everybody was impressed with the Mudfest. Oh well, you can't please them all.
Then you come in and go straight to the tub. What does a bathtub look like after a day in the mud you ask?

Now you know. And that's after Caleb and Emmy got out. I didn't think to take a picture after Jacob and Jonah got out. omg.
.......
That was fun but I'm ready to have a driveway now please.

Matching once more

Somebody got them matching outfits for their birthday. I haven't bought anything matching in forever, I think we stopped when the boys started Mother's Day Out or shortly there after. They definitely haven't had anything matching since they've started school. I miss dressing them alike!

If it weren't for the haircuts, it might be hard for some to tell them apart. They actually look alike in this picture, see:

Little fish

Emmy's swimming! She went from not wanting to get her face wet last summer to swimming this summer.

Her move on the second dive is called the Spinarooni, in case you were wondering. That's what she told Basil that when he got home.

La la la la, la la la la, Elmo's song...

Here's a short clip of Caleb singing with Elmo.

He only sang the first part, that's why it's so short. He got bored after that and just jumped on the table. I guess that happens after the 899th time you hear it.

When it's quiet...

You should start looking, and find him quick.

Unfortunately, what you can't see is that he painted the couch with quite a bit as well. Eucerin. The really, really thick lotion. These are the times when I wish we had leather.
......
Oh Caleb. You make me tired.

(Not so) Wordless Wednesday

It's supposed to just be a picture with nothing else, but I have to explain that this is what we saw when we got out to the pond a few weeks ago. How cute is this?!?!

Maybe next week I can actually follow the rules and post a WORDLESS Wednesday post. Or not. ;)

Meet Shawn

The newest member of the family who resides in a baby pool in the corner of the backyard. I don't have to feed, watch, or take care of him. I think I like him best.

Are they looking? Can they see me? Maybe I can get away!

Last birthday post

Geez, I'm birthday-d out. We had the boys party today at the Pompano and had a really good turnout! Fifteen kids, plus ours. Going early always means that we have the pool to ourselves, so it was really nice. Hot, but nice.

I wish this picture had come out clear. Another kid blew Jonah's candle out and he had the cutest look on his face.

They each made out with tons of money. Since they couldn't give me any ideas for gifts this year, I had no idea what to tell people when they asked me what to get so most ended up putting cash in the cards. The boys were totally cool with that and we're taking them to Toys R Us this afternoon to pick something(s) out. I think it'll be interesting to see if they go for one or two big things, or lots of smaller things. I predict that Jacob will go for big, and Jonah for more smaller things. We shall see.

Born to be wild!

Jacob and Jonah got Razor electric motorcycles for their birthday. They go about 14 mph. They LOVE them. We brought them over to the pond yesterday and they rode and rode, there's plenty of room for them to let loose there.

Jonah was brave yesterday and rode over the ramp. Check it out, his front tire came off and everything. A real wheelie! Jacob didn't try, Jonah is much more willing to try new things.

Speaking of taking a walk (or ride or swim) on the wild side, they swam at the pond without life jackets for the first time yesterday. Once again, Jonah jumped in pretty much right away and it took Jacob a while to warm up to the idea. They're really good swimmers and they did fine.

Since this post is all about them, I thought I'd include a picture of them with their birthday cakes. Eight years old. Time sure flies!

Birthday boys!

Okay so I'm lame (and almost late) with Jacob and Jonah's birthday post. I was up way too late last night making cakes and decorating because I waited until the last minute which is unlike me. We went to Chuck E Cheese's this morning, they had a friend come over after that, Caleb choked on and then swallowed a marble, and we went to see Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs this afternoon. It's been a full day (and past two weeks) and I'm tired. I have tons of pictures that I love from the past 8 years and I want to go through them and put together a video of my favorites. I'll do that soon. Until then, these few will have to do.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BIG BOYS! I love you SO much!!
