Recital pictures

Sorry for the delay! Last week was crazy and then we had computer trouble this week. Here are some pictures of the Dancing Queen from last week:

Passing time backstage before their ballet number:

With some ballet buddies:

Jazz, by FAR my favorite number of hers from this year!

Look at the booty shaking action in this picture (she's on the left). She really got after it!

Tap:

She had a "special" part that she was so proud of, she got to go to the front of the line and sing a few words along with the song. SO cute!

Ballet:

I hope to get videos up of each of her dances within the next few days. She did GREAT! Full costume years are so pretty, but off years (like this one) are definitely easier. Just throw it all in a bag and go, I liked that!

Pictures

Since it's been over a year and I've been meaning to do some of Caleb since October, I finally went and did it. I love taking pictures, but I HATE trying to take posed pictures of my kids. Other peoples kids, no problem. Mine, not so much. Poor things, they really were good. I turn into a raving nutter though and want things to be perfect which of course, isn't possible. Out of several hundred pictures, this is the only one that I love:

The others are just alright and there aren't really any individual ones that I'm crazy about. I didn't get any of Jonah that I even like, I plan to take them out again and try to get some individuals sometime soon.

These are our "jumping for joy because summer is here" pictures. ;)

Whoa, it's been a week?!

We've been claimed by summer. We spend our mornings and evenings at the Pompano, every day is pretty much the same. I got to sleep till 8:30 this morning and everybody else slept till 9:30. Bliss.
...
We braved the beach on Memorial Day and it was awesome. We packed lunch and stayed a few hours, the kids had a blast.

For Jacob and Jonah, the success of their beach trip usually depends on how many hermit crabs they can collect while we're there. We were there 5 minutes and they already had about 20, it was shaping up to be a good day. Then this happened:

That, my friends, would be a shark. We (unfortunately) parked between two fishermen. The beach was crowded and the choices were limited. A few minutes after we got there, the guy on one side of us caught a 3 (give or take) foot shark. Basil took them over to see it, they thought it was cool and then went back to collecting hermit crabs. A little while later, the guy on the other side caught this cute little baby shark. After he showed it to his family, he let Jacob and Jonah have it. They examined it from every angle then let it go and chased it down the beach. It stayed in really shallow water for a little bit then swam off. Jacob and Jonah dumped the hermit crabs out of their bucket, then spent the rest of the time waiting for another shark to just swim by so they could catch it. Needless to say, they didn't have much luck.

....

How cool is that though?! Especially for my weirdo boys who are crazy about dangerous man eating animals. I'm sure these will be pictures that they print off and bring to the first day of school.

S-U-M-M-E-R!

Because, you know, it's not really summer until the Pompano opens!
Emmy totally rocked her goggles.
This is what it looks like around Basil everytime he goes to the pool. Only one of these kids are ours.
Jacob took a turn in the dunking booth.
Jonah won a door prize.
