Birthday party fun

Jacob and Jonah are SURE they want to have their party at this place in July. Go carts, bumper boats, putt putt, arcade games....who wouldn't want a birthday party there? They're finally tall enough to ride the stuff by themselves, so we may do that this year.
............................
Flying around the go cart track. Jonah actually won (both times, by bumping John - who is a HUGE NASCAR fan -out of the way) but this picture shows Jacob in front. I thought we may see a shattered friendship after Jonah's dirty wins but it was all good.

Sitting pretty in first place:

The bumper boats were a huge hit too, good thing it was warm that day.
Good times.

A new adventure for Emmy

We met some friends at the park and Emmy decided that she wanted to try something new. She and Basil took a few spins up and down and then she was done. I told her before we left "you're going to fall. It's okay, it's not a big deal, you just have to get up and try again." She responded with a cheerful "okay!" and off we went.
It's all fun and games until...
somebody falls off and gets totally pissed off about it.
So that marked the end of the learning-to-ride-with-no-training-wheels session. We went to the park and played some after that.
This is one way to get across the monkey bars I suppose.
It's hot Mom! Frick! Do you have to bring the camera EVERYWHERE?!
When he learns to pedal, "hell on wheels" will accurately describe him, I think.
What's a visit to the park without catching a few frogs? Right after I took this picture, they found another huge one and stuffed him into the jar with the others. They were relocated to our house of course.
As if we don't have enough critters around here already.

'Bout time!

I was having some serious blog anxiety, I haven't been able to get the pictures off of my camera card onto the computer for some reason. It's probably because there are 4 trillion pictures on the computer already and it's full. I realize that I could have made a blog post with no pictures, which I did not too long ago but lets face it - a blog post without pictures is like peanut butter with no jelly. Or something like that.

AAAAANYway, on to the post. We had our first pack meeting of the new school year and the boys earned all sorts of belt loops. They're these nice shiny metal things that slide over the belt. They each got one for: BB shooting, archery, art, soccer, mathematics, map and compass and ultimate. Ultimate is this football type Frisbee game. They earned all of those during the camp they went to this summer.
We also got all of our popcorn selling information. Hint hint, relatives. Be afraid, be very afraid. A uniformed Cub Scout will be appearing on your doorstep very soon. They'll ambush out of town relatives the first chance they get. There are prizes you know, for selling a certain amount of popcorn. They've looked them over with much interest already. One of them is a marshmallow shooter. I'm just sayin'.

"Hi, I'm Jacob/Jonah with pack 119. Would you like to buy some popcorn?" I mean COME ON! How cute are they?!?!

Showing off their hard earned belt loops.

In Ziploc bags. That's right, that's how we roll.
